Our story
Growing up, Luna Chacón witnessed the quiet struggles of families in underserved communities—families like her own who have relied on the kindness of others to meet their most basic needs. From the backpacks that helped her start each school year to the food and Christmas gifts that reminded her family they were not forgotten, Luna learned early on what a difference compassion can make. These moments of generosity shaped her heart and taught her that even the smallest act of love can bring hope where it’s needed most.
Through her visits to places like Mexico, Luna has seen firsthand the challenges that children face when opportunities are limited. She has walked through villages where classrooms lack supplies, where homes are fragile, and where many children dream simply of having the essentials that others take for granted. Yet, in the midst of hardship, she also saw something powerful—joy, faith, and resilience that no circumstance could take away.
Inspired by Mother Teresa’s life of service and unconditional love, Luna felt called to do more than just feel compassion. She wanted to live it. Mother Teresa’s words, “It’s not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving,” became a guiding light for her mission.
That mission became Milagritos de Esperanza, meaning Little Miracles of Hope. It was founded with a simple but profound belief: that no child should have to worry about having food on the table, school supplies for class, or a roof strong enough to keep them safe. Every child deserves the chance to dream, to learn, and to grow with dignity.
Today, Milagritos de Esperanza continues to be a reflection of love in action. Through each donation, every project, and every smile shared, the spirit of hope grows stronger. It reminds us that when we give from the heart, we bring a little bit of light into the world, one miracle at a time.
